This new and improved version of an already productive emerger/nymph, the RS2, features a sparkle wing that utilizes a pearl material on the wing and tail to grab the attention of a feeding trout. Like the original version, this fly is available in four different colors to imitate a variety of mayflies from Tricos to BWOs. Available in small sizes for the pickiest fish, this fly works well when fished as a single emerger or as a dropper off of a dry fly during a significant hatch. It can also be fished deeper in the water column as a nymph as part of a double nymph rig. The simple fly design features a dubbing body, a small pearl tail, and a sparkle wing case that imitates an emerging insect. While this fly is incredibly simple, it works well when targeting finicky trout that are just eating emergers in tailwaters and spring creeks. This pattern can be used in a stillwater setting, too, during notable hatches.
