S & M Nymph Fly

S & M Nymph Fly

The S and M Nymph features a relatively simple design with a thin profile and a natural mayfly-looking body. The bead head helps the nymph get down quickly, and the buggy thorax and tail grab the attention of feeding fish. This particular pattern is generally used to imitate a Baetis or another swimming mayfly and comes in a variety of colors, so you can 'match the hatch' on any river. It's no secret that trout spend the majority of their time feeding subsurface. This nymph will help you capitalize on trout that are feeding on nymphs and swimmers in a variety of river systems. Use this fly under an indicator as a point fly on a double nymph rig or as a dropper off of a dry fly. While this isn't the most technical fly pattern we carry, its lifelike body will fool picky fish, and it's a great pattern to use on spring creeks, tailwaters, and larger freestone rivers in the western US and beyond.
