Uses

Vinyl Rib is mostly used to wrap bodies or rib bodies made of dubbing, thread, or floss. Both of these choices create great segmentation in your flies, and when you make bodies entirely out of Vinyl Rib, they tend to sink quite well.

Comparisons

A very comparable option to Hareline's Vinyl Rib is UTC's Vinyl D Rib. Both of these are made from vinyl and feature a half circle or D shape, and they can be used for pretty much the same applications. Apart from some colors being a little different between products, the main difference is that UTC's D RIb comes on a spool while Hareline's Vinyl Rib is packaged in a bag.
